He played the tuba. He played the funeral dirge - would have been more witty.
The best person to answer this is actually Chris Williams, the future editor of Drobe, who would not only have been watching what happened around the time of the planned release of the Phoebe closely, but is also media-savvy enough to be able to dodge the lawyers.
