Hi All,
Rather annoyingly, one of my two 10BaseT Ethernet cards has just spectacularly burnt itself out. It's an Etherlan 500.
I just powered on the A5000 and heard this whistling sound so I powered down immediately thinking the monitor had gone pop. After rooting around the monitor, I noticed that nasty burning electronics smell coming from the A5000 so I whipped off its lid and the Ethernet card was red hot... I've pulled the card and the A5000 is fine but the card is probably beyond repair as some of the logic chips are no longer manufactured so they're going to be hard to find.
Several ground traces have burnt off the PCB lacquer at different points on the board so it's clear something has failed short and caused some serious damage to the card
So if anyone has a 10BaseT Ethernet card going spare that they're willing to sell to me for a reasonable price, please let me know.

Hi All,
I checked all the resistors and caps over the weekend and they all seemed OK so I decided to have a crack at locating all the IC's. In the end, I managed to source most of the IC's from http://www.quarndon.co.uk/. The only IC's I couldn't find there were the two memory chips which I've found as second hand pulls from a seller on ebay that I was going to buy if I needed them.
I ordered all the other chips from Quarndon on Sunday and they arrived this morning so I set about re-chipping the network card this evening. After replacing all the IC's I figured I'd give it a test and to my great delight the network card is up and running again.
So now I'm up and running, I no longer need a network card but Jon still does if anyone has one going spare
