Woman walks into a bar and asks the barman for a double entendre. So he gave her one. |

This thread worked well, didn't it?
Anyway, I saw a great one today. There's some building work being done along the high street, on some of the shops. Lots of signs outside saying "business as usual", etc. But the building firm also have one that says ""Working hard"". Which, in itself, is a double entendre. But even moreso because they did have quotation marks around it - presumably because it's a quote from someone - but it also serves to highlight the double-entendre-ness even more, like they were aware of its other meaning as they wrote it. |

When I'm driving, I can say that I have a big 'ard thing sticking out in front of me, and I'm not being rude when I do so because I'm referring, of course, to the winch mount on my car.
It nearly went right up some woman's behind on the way home today.

"winch mount" More entendre-y if it had been called a "wench mount".
At the weekend we got talking to an old couple at a nature reserve, and Dad (it was Father's Day after all) said that Common Terns were like supermodels - lovely to look at, but disappointing when they opened their mouths. Which almost had me snickering anyway. But the old geezer replied that he "hadn't come across many supermodels". I had to resist opening my mouth, it was quite hard etc. ________ Cheers, Rich.

From a book I'm reading: "his resolve stiffened". Resolve, eh? As good a name as any, I suppose... |

Talking of double entendres, did anyone see the hidden lives documentary on Kenneth Williams a couple of weeks back? A seriously funny man on camera, but sad and lonely behind the camera, like quite a few of our great comedians. The one on Frankie Howard was quite sad too. |
