A few interesting news items have occured from RISCOS Ltd since the AGM which haven't been posted to The IconBar yet so here goes...

RiscStation now fully supported by Select

As pointed out by MyRISCOS.co.uk, RISCOS Ltd announced on Saturday that the RiscStation R7500 machines are now fully supported by RISC OS Select. They say that the forthcomming release of RISC OS Select (Version 4.32) will be the first to support all three RISC OS hardware platforms.

!Printers+ Frontend heads towards SourceForge

"We will be releasing the Source Code to the Frontend of !Printers+ as a publicly accessible collaborative project via the SourceForge Web Site." Explain RISCOS Ltd on their RISC OS Select website. RISCOS Ltd also make it very clear that "this does not signify that RISC OS is to become an Open Source Operating System, but in order to allow greater development of certain components we are making this release of !Printers+ source for non-chargeable use by Developers." See the RISC OS Select website for further details.

PNG Developers Kit

A PNG developers kit has been released to the RISC OS Select subscribers. According to Drobe's article, it provides information and resources for developers of applications which manipulate PNG files.

850 Subscribers

RISCOS Ltd have pointed out that there are nearly 850 subscribers to the select scheme.

And finally...

If you haven't already seen it, take a look at what's in store for RISC OS Select in the near future.

Right, now I'm off for some fresh air.

It shouldn't let you try to post a comment if you're not logged in, then.
