Anyone for a round of Lemings?

Posted by Jeffrey Lee on 23:49, 16/5/2004 | ,

No, not Lemmings, but Lemings, the game by Tom Cooper. Much like it's namesake this game is based around you rescuing dozens of cute fury animals from a myriad of traps dotted around the levels, and successfully guiding them to the exit. Like with Gyrinus 2 this game has always been freeware, but unlike Gyrinus it's been having a bit of trouble running on newer machines - so we thought we'd give it a bit of a brush up.

It should now run fine on practically any machine from RISC OS 2 to RISC OS 5 (Albeit with the help of a suitable emulator), and includes a few extra 'features' to boot - such as being able to exit the game and menu screens which don't vanish as soon as they appear. Enjoy!

Unregistered user Some of these levels get ridiculously hard. I'm up to '**** doors' (level 7/8) at the moment.

Unregistered user For the benefit of any hard-up lawyers listening out there, can I just point out that it is in no way like Lemmings? Just for balance, you understand.

Unregistered user Hiya,

Just a point: on a SA RISC PC, the music runs WAAAY too quickly, even though the game itself runs at a decent speed.

Would it be possible to convert the sound with SoundConv (or similar), and then patch the game to use TrackerModule music or suchlike to actually play the sounds with?

Unregistered user The music on this version seems to be fine in tempo but comparing it to the original version it's different and that music /did/ run too fast! What machine are you playing on?
