Hi all,

Just getting my old Risc PC upgraded, having recently bought a Kinetic Risc PC with a Simtec USB card.

I've also bought a Vpod and SD to IDE adapter to replace the main hard drive.

First issue - I cannot get another IDE device working alongside the SD-IDE adapter. The adapter does not appear to have any Master/Slave jumpers to set. Therefore, I cannot get my DVD drive working under any OS, with any jumper setting (Master, Slave or Cable Select). I have already sent David Holden (APDL) a query about this, so may get an answer soon.

Second issue - having got everything (Castle SCSI + drive, USB, but not Vpod) working under 4.39, I proceeded to upgrade to 6.20 (with the install files on the SCSI HDD). I then find that the USB doesn't work (keep getting errors on booting into the desktop), and I cannot access the SCSI HDD - I have an icon, but when I click on it, I get an hourglass for a second before it disappears but does not mount the drive.

On the plus side, I do have a nice big desktop working off the Vpod.

Should I be upgrading to a UniPod (which would also solve the IDE drive issue)?
Should I be changing the SCSI card for another make?

Cheers,

Gerald.
