:moss:, do you have any idea when you would set the deadline for the Asylum map competition? It would be great if it was after the easter holidays because I have exams right before easter and loads of corse work to hand in in the next few weeks too.

Good idea, that'd help others too - although I probably wouldn't have got it done before then anyway ;)

Yay! I think I'll try and do one with completly new graphics! It will either be an absolute mess or quite nice! :o

:flamethrower:: I have some feature requests for the next version of Asylum! :P;)

:o 32 bittedness.
:o Fix for vertical flickering of screen (on menu and in game) in mode 49.
:o Loads level application directories that are droped on to iconbar icon.
:o Uses custom border graphics, character graphics, text graphics and explosion graphics stored within level application directories.

Yup, the source is BASIC assembler. C conversion isn't too difficult; the hardest part is deciphering the data structures and any groups of conditional instructions, the rest is piss easy to translate.

Is it easier to do a C conversion then to update the original code?

I suspect that having it in C will be easier in the long run; proper data structures, easier to add new features/provide support for a new OS version, etc. Plus the translation process will allow me to learn how the game works so I'll know which bits to change in order to do something ;)

Have you tried nobrainer under aemulor at all? Or should I just assume that it works? :o

(It's straight C, and Surgeon works, so I guess nobrainer does... I'll put it down as working for now)

Nope, I've not tried nobrainer yet. I just assumed it would work. I'll test it in a minute...

Heh!

Just checked and it does work. I converted FSPBlocks from FastSpr format to a Sprite file. I didn't try any other conversions - I'm just assuming everything else works too. :P

I've got no idea about amnesia though, so I don't know what he's going on about :P

Judging by what he's said though I'm not quite sure if even he knows what he's on about :o (Or he's trying to do things the wrong way)
