Excellent work :tsla: :E You shall get lots of credit on the site :)

I don't suppose you have the actual Acorn Users to scan in, do you?
I do, but surly someone would need to be asked first? I am not sure who would own the copyright - IDG Media, Tau Press or the authors of the articles.

Mike

I think the general thing people do with that is to put it up, along with a copyright notice, and say you'll take it down if the copyright owner complains. However, I'll get explict permission if you want me to :P

And design your own avatar, and get in contact with rich :o

OK. Just do the copyright notice thing then. I'll e-mail them a bit later. I take it you just want the interview and Oddball review?

OK. Made one! It's 197 bytes and 18x18. Is that OK?

Yes please :) I take it they never did an Asylum review?

This is very cheeky, but I may as well ask: You haven't got any mags with Acorn Abuser in, have you?

Is that OK?
Wow! Lovely! :E Email it to rich, along with the text to go next to it...

My collection starts in 1995 (don't know what happened to the older ones - maybe mum threw them out! :o)

Dunno - What was Acorn Abuser?

Ah, you wouldn't have any. I think it ends in about 92. Certainly before 95 :)

It was a page of news on the back page, basically taking the piss of of everyone :E

No :P I've got a lot of the content written out; but I haven't finialised the design yet. I'll *attempt* to get a page up tomorrow so you can see what it's like.

Bear in mind I've deliberately kept it very simple.

Someone needs to do a list of guns avaliable...

How are you going with your maps?

I was going to say something asylummy, but I've forgotten what it was now :|

Except that I've sent of details of the asylum/oddball stuff I've done to :moss:, including new patch, nobrainer, etc.

Someone needs to do a list of guns avaliable...
You mean like this?

 96 - Standard minigun
97 - Standard minigun + spray
98 - 5-stream minigun
99 - Fast 5-stream minigun
100 - Weird gun
101 - 3-way blitzer
102 - 5-way blitzer
103 - Megablam 5000 minigun
104 - Standard rocket launcher
105 - Twin rocket launcher
106 - Quad rocket launcher
107 - Starburst rocket launcher
108 - Twin starburst rocket launcher
109 - Quad starburst rocket launcher
110 - Potpourri rocket launcher
111 - Megablam rocket launcher

Oh yes, that's was it. Game suite 3 doesn't contain any of the Asylum source, so I've contacted AS in the hope that he can supply some :)

I also had a pop at ArcElite over the weekend, and have managed to break through the 4 levels of encryption it uses - so StrongARM users no longer have to wait for the game to load with their cache turned off :)

However I haven't brought a copy of it with me :(

There's also some other suspicious looking code in there, which appears to be some form of compressed data/code. I'm not sure whether it's computer or human generated though - if it's human generated then I should be able to produce a version of Elite without it, if it's computer generated then it may be tightly tied into the code. Despite having cracked the encryption, it still looks like there's some encrypted stuff left, which is why I'm trying to crack this new bit of code.

Eventually I hope to produce a version of Elite which doesn't crash - I think the crash is meant to occur when a certain type of ship appears (Can't remember the name), but because it crashes as it's drawing it you never get to see the ship to find out if that's what caused the crash :|

Yay! Nice one :flamethrower: :) Erm, could you do a list of the monsters as well? :P And yay on asking AS for the source.

Right; I've forgotten to bring in my site layout today :| What I'll do is upload a test page tomorrow to get people's approval, and assuming it's basically alright, upload the full site on Wednesday :)

Elite stuff sounds interesting. I could never get into the game myself :(

*slaps you a bit*

The psyche monsters from nobrainer's block info:

240 - Rat
241 - Non-shooting flower
242 - Shooter
243 - Windmill shooter
244 - Windmill fireball shooter
245 - Windmill electricity shooter
246 - Walking orb thing shooter
247 - Walking orb thing electricity shooter
248 - Flying eye thing shooter
249 - Flying eye thing ball shooter
250 - Flying sphere shooter
251 - Flying sphere ball shooter
252 - Jumping rat
253 - Flying sphere ball shooter

Don't ask me what they all shoot though; I think 'shooter' is just those coloured blobs, 'fireball shooter' is obviously fire balls, 'electricity shooter' electricity balls, and 'ball shooter' those bigger blobs which then split up into smaller ones, or something. gah, why am I telling you this? Go do it yourself :P

And yay on asking AS for the source.
The source should be with me by the end of the week :)

Elite stuff sounds interesting. I could never get into the game myself :(
Is that in the hacking or playing sense? ;)

I was doing OK until it suddenly decided to start giving my ship rotational momentum, at which point I had to relearn how to fly :|

Then the mysterious crashing came in, and I can't really make any further progress in the game unless I dock every five minutes to save :|

The worst thing is, I *did* bring it; but forgot something, so had to go back; but when I went out again, I forgot the disc :(

It's a fairly simple design; black with white text; the logo of the site top left, the title of the section top right, the nav bar down the left with a dark grey background, and the content next to it. It's not particuarly asylummy - the font I use for the .acornarcade.com on the holding page isn't there; problem is that it doesn't really work on a web page. It just looks unprofessional. :(

Yes; and a few utilities that :flamethrower: has done/found. It also has the demo versions of Asylum, the demo version of Oddball, the full version of Oddball, some in-depth docs from :flamethrower:, Gamesuite v.2 and 3, your scans, cheats...

Once it's all up, I'll start work on some game hints. And :andypoole: is doing some level maps :)
(Yay - I've got an avatar now! :E Thanks, Rich.)
