Possibly this is related to the browser I'm using (firefox), and possibly it already exists but I'm just too dumb to find it, but could a link to the forum that a topic is in be added to the bottom of the topic page.
Reason being, when I get to the end of a topic and use the browser's "back" functionality, the little envelope that indicates I've read the thread remains closed. If I want it to be opened, I have to scroll all the way back to the top of the topic and click on the link there.
For a long thread, this can be a pain.
It'd be both time-saving and also and RSI-friendly not to have to do this. |

Probably easier to copy the whole link generation code from the top - i.e. include the link to the list of forums as well. Some people seem to miss that link entirely.

The ones which, hitherto now, I'm pretty sure must have been invisible? I have never noticed those before.
An excellent solution. And which doesn't require the use of my 'spare' hand.
I still think it'd be nice to put the:
"The Icon Bar forums: Site Comments: Links back to forum at bottom of topic page"
bit at the bottom too, though. |

OK - I think I've got it. The "breadcrumbs" should be sorted, with post topic/search but without the user stuff. I also coloured in the footer to make it look better 
I also tried putting the page (number) navigation in the top as well as the bottom of the thread list.

It's good.
But:
"Links back to forum at bottom of topic page" ..? It's an exact copy of what's above (unless you're an admin ). So yes, it lets you know what thread you're in; handy for tabbed browsers.

How can I take screenshots of the same page if the gap shows on some but not on others?
I don't think it looks bad this way - there's a gap of about half a line, rather than the two or three line gap you get with the tags in and using Firefox. Well, I like the gap
