I noticed that the fonts on TIB look much bigger in Safari, so I changed the user-agent string in Firefox on Windows, and sure enough, the fonts get bigger. What's going on there then?

Macs have traditionally done some strange things with regards to font size and/or DPI, which lead to the need for separate style sheets for Mac and non-Mac browsers. Now it would appear that they're moving more towards what everyone else does... but that means the previous kludges don't work properly.

We *could* just remove the check and have one stylesheet... any objections?

I now use Safari... and I'd prefer having one stylesheet. I don't like the large font :(

Grrr!

Can we compromise and have one stylesheet that uses the big font? :)

Do any browsers remember font settings on a per-site basis?

Not unless you fancy writing an extension to do so...

Interestingly, I was going to *automatically* download Firefox for my new Mac. But Safari is so nice to use, I'll probably stick with it for everyday use, and only use Firefox for testing.

Yeah, same here. I have Camino on standby for testing as well (and for using things like live.local.com (which seems to be the only one with aerial photos of here :|)

This is true. I was wondering if it was because I'm very short on disk space, or have about 10 windows each with about 20 tabs on them. (I don't bookmark stuff, I just leave it open ;) )

The javascript calendar on Expedia is incredibly slow for some reason.
