Unregistered user 233MHz is ample for the majority of desktop tasks. It's often embarassment compared to PC processorts that invites disdainful remarks about Acorns.
I'm all in favour of pushing for newer faster processors all the same.

Unregistered user RISC OS /is/ fast, but it could still be faster. The gap between bootup times between RISC OS and ME is closing quickly.. even though ME is still embarassingly slower on a 1.2Ghz 256MB Athlon. The RISC OS desktop also needs to look a bit nicer, compared to the new KDE and Windows efforts. Many people will call this just 'eye candy', but a nice-looking desktop is plesant, attracts customers, and is generally nicer to work with. RISC OS ltd's failure to bring us a 32bit OS could be the final nail in the coffin.
