AFAIK Select now works on the Kinetic, but you lose the Kinetic on-board memory and have to revert back to using the old RPC memory. If you stripped that down and sold off the SIMMs to fund the cost of the Kinetic you're screwed ;) |

Doesn't that actually defeat the whole point of Kinetic which removed the memory and bus bottleneck by placing fast memory on the motherboard?
Great, spend a few hundred quid on a performance upgrade and another 100 odd quid on reverting it back again.
I realise that this, and my comment on the notebook, is pouring cold water on new developments but surely this is just turning into a nightmare?

Surely they'll be working on a version which supports the Kinetic fast memory access? |

If not, then we may as well give up. |

It works nearly enough on Riscstations. All you have to do is find a way of getting the idefs module to it, and you also lose the use of floppy, clock, cmos ram and serial port, but it works! ;) |

LOL :-D
Surely then, it's trivial to modify to work on Riscstations? Hopefully crappy politics won't get in the way. |
