I've just got myself a Wii from Woolworths.
Now the big question is: Keep or Sell?
Convince me. |

The fact that you just got one would be an indication that they are not rampantly out of stock. So you won't get any (significant) extra money by selling it.
Therefore, you will keep it, and enter into the world of Wii fandom. Or just punch a hole through your wall. |

Convince yourself.
(Hint: KEEP IT. It's brilliant.)
Here are some reasons:
Wii Sports.
Zelda.
Warioware.
R-Type.
Weather Channel.
Mii Channel.
Also, people who buy things just to sell them on are a waste of space. They contribute nothing.

Damn them to hell! I'm sure you can see the difference between a store that buys in bulk from a warehouse, handles promotion and distribution, warrantys and returns, after sales support, and provides jobs and pays taxes; to some tosser who buys something purely to prevent you from being able to get it in the conventional manner, and holds it to ransom for a ridiculously high amount. |

They were in stock for just over 15mins at woolworths.co.uk Amazon market place sells for >300 quid.
I'm quite tempted to keep it, but I'm unsure if I would actually play it that much. Hmm...
I often buy things to sell on: I bought masses of discounted parker pens from a stationary box store that was closing a few years back, and sold them for substantial profit to people in America where these pens aren't stocked. I've also bought CDs from online stores, and sold them on Amazon market place for profit (NB they were still in stock from the site I got them from, just most people don't look around, and just go straight to Amazon). I've also bought up clearance routers, and the like from Staples and sold on eBay.
I don't see that there is anything wrong with this. I'm just providing an additional market place, and I can only see it on at what the buyer thinks the product is worth to them.
That said, I wouldn't have bought 10 Wiis because I know there is a shortage, and I don't really need them. I bet other people were buying lots though. |

My favourite console I've ever owned.
Difficult to explain why unless you actually play it, though. Open Wii Sports, get at least one more controller, invite some friends round, and have fun |

Whilst fearing the wrath of Phil... I've listed it in Ad Mag, but with the profit I'm going to get another one for me And I might buy someone else (part of (they'll have to pay the remainder)) one too with the extra cash gained.
So it's all good.
I was surprised at how small it is. It looks bigger in the pictures.
*hides*
Edit: My eBay ID is in that photo because that's where I was going to put it until I decided to go with Ad Mag.

So you've deprived somebody - who actually really wants one - of getting one for at least another weekend. How selfish. |

I want one, but I am sacrificing mine for the benefit of someone else at the current market price, and using the profit to benefit someone else. How un-selfish. I gain nothing from this. |

thanx, so do i need to get a wi-fi adapter as i already have broadband? and how much are these adaptors? Do you connect to the internet with a USB modem or a router and ethernet cable?
If you already have a router, then Nintendo are planning to release an ethernet adapter for the Wii, so you can just run another ethernet cable from the router to the Wii. I don't think this has been released yet.
If you don't have a router, or can't wait for the ethernet adapter, you have two alternatives:
You could get the Nintendo USB Wi-fi adapter (£25), but it needs a PC running Windows XP, and you'll need that PC running all the time you want the Wii to be online. That's not so good if you're using WiiConnect24 (the Wii is online 24 hours a day) - think of the waste of electricity keeping that PC on full power!
Much better would be to get a wireless router (price varies - this one (£54) also comes with a USB device for your PC so your PC can be used wirelessly too).
Edit: disclaimer - I don't know if the router I suggested will work with the Wii. A lot do, but it's probably best to buy one that is known to work - or from a shop that will let you return it if it doesn't.
You can check router compatibility here: http://www.nintendowifi.co.uk/customersupport/supportedRouters.do
Edit 2: Looks OK?
