...or at least, I sorted through them and have patched what I can. Of the major (read, any good - not including Sheep Racing) games that I have, these are what work and what don't. NB My machine specs are all over TIB by now:

Burn 'Out: Internal error: undefined instruction at &0000AD48
Diggers: causes machine to crash on a black screen
High Risc Racing: causes machine to freeze instantly
Lemmings: freezes on "all rights reserved" screen, before game can load
Oh No More Lemmings: causes machine to freeze instantly
Lemmings 2 - Tribes: Internal error: branch through zero at &03813AE8
lYAToV: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &00066CC0
Alone in the Dark: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &0001A884 (and later on) SWI 900000 not known
Flashback: SWI &847718 not known
Heimdall: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &03613A34
Mad Professor Moriarity: Internal error: branch through zero at &03813AE8
Populous: Internal error: branch through zero at &03813AE8
Xenon 2: No writable memory at this address
Botkiller 2: crashes when clicking on 'Start Game'
Dune II: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &02D008B4
Swiv: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &00070638
Zarch: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &000260C4
Birds of War: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &022D20B8
Interdictor II: Uncaught trap: error 00051484, pc = 60068330: registers at 00068294
Gods: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &000305C4
Wolvenstein 3D: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &02303394 (and later on) no writeable memory at this address
Haunted House: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &026D0458
The Time Machine: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &01351AEC

Chocks Away: works fine but a little fast
Spheres of Chaos: works fine but no exit option but to reset?
Moonquake: works fine
Marsquake: works fine
TEK: this is a long story but is supposed to work fine
Gorm: works fine
Botkiller 1: works fine
Syndicate: works fine
Iron Lord: works fine
Ankh: works fine
Exodus: works fine
Terramex: works fine but no way to exit - then again, there never was
Pleb Up Pleb Down: works fine
Mr Doo: works fine
Cannon Fodder: works fine
Conqueror: works but way too fast
Elite: works fine but a little fast
Fire Flight: works fine

Repton 3: unknown; boot disk not present
The Cobalt Seed: unknown; boot disk not present
E-Type: broken copy

Yes, you're right, it was a VERY boring evening I had. Anyway, barring what was on AUCD10, anyone know of RPC/StrongARM patches for these? Last time I used most of them was on my old A5000...

I think there are patches for some of these, but I have no idea where they are (tried Google)?

Of course, you could just get hold of a second-hand A5000 from somewhere...

Burn 'Out: Internal error: undefined instruction at &0000AD48
My copy works, I believe. I *think* you can download the full game from <insert-a-game-author-here>'s web site, or at least a patch. Check AA, you may find a reference somewhere... could be Ian Jeffray's site... dunno...

Diggers: causes machine to crash on a black screen
Aye :(

Lemmings: freezes on "all rights reserved" screen, before game can load
Original version or WIMP RiscPC version? My original one works, with a patch from somewhere. But the palette is wrong so all the colours are mucked up :(

Lemmings 2 - Tribes: Internal error: branch through zero at &03813AE8
My one works - there may be a patch for it somewhere, or it might just be some updated music modules you need.

Alone in the Dark: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &0001A884 (and later on) SWI 900000 not known
As with a few other games on this list, checking the AU games CD would be a good idea. The copy of AITD I got from the CD works (or at least with a bit of prodding)

Flashback: SWI &847718 not known
Mine works, with some form of patch IIRC.

Heimdall: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &03613A34
Mad Professor Moriarity: Internal error: branch through zero at &03813AE8
These ones work OK from the AU CD

Botkiller 2: crashes when clicking on 'Start Game'
Again, check the AU CD

Dune II: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &02D008B4
Dune II was made freeware not too long ago - check AA, my copy from the 'net works fine.

Interdictor II: Uncaught trap: error 00051484, pc = 60068330: registers at 00068294
My copy works, IIRC. Can't remember if it's an original one from a charity stand or from a CD though...

Gods: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &000305C4
Works from AU CD

Wolvenstein 3D: Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &02303394 (and later on) no writeable memory at this address
Aye :(

It used to work (albeit with the cache turned off), but now doesn't :(

Terramex: works fine but no way to exit - then again, there never was
Updated version on AU CD, IIRC. Supposedly RO4 compatable, I think :o

Elite: works fine but a little fast
My copy works fine, from the 'net or a CD somewhere. Dunno about the speed though; it seems OK to me, but this is the only copy I've played.

E-Type: broken copy
I think my copy works OK. Plus I hacked the code a bit so I could run it off the HD instead of floppy :)

There are a few websites knocking round with patches on, but I don't know any of their URLs. Plus quite a few of my games work thanks to StrongGuard, so it may be worth tracking down somewhere selling that. And there are a few I've patched myself through various cack-handed methods.

/me wonders how many will fail under Aemulor...

Yes; as I said, it's almost worth picking up an old A5000 from somewhere.

From Ian Bell's website, or cut to the chase and go to http://www.houseofmabel.com/programs/ (I tweaked it to work on A5000s, RiscPCs etc.)

Oh yea, that's a point: I've actually managed to crack the 5 or so encryption levels on Elite, which means that you no longer need to load it with the cache turned off :E

If anyone is interested then in a few days time I can upload a copy somewhere for you...

Not sure how legal it is though; surely ian bell would have unencrypted it himself by now, unless he's lost the source or something.

Irritatingly, I bought Exodus, and then I bought TEK, so I have two manuals around at home somewhere :|

He didn't write ArcElite. Burch and Gringas(sp?) did for Hybrid. Last I heard at least one of them had got a job in America, so it'd be a bit hard to ask him for the source ;)
