Chonix? This is some amalgam of Chocky and Unix, presumably?
I'm in the area, though I don't usually have the time to make it to these things. The last one I went to was out in Walthamstowe and was Jack from Castle about the time of the Kinetic launch, which shows you how long it has been. |

Damn. Wasn't in London that day unexpectedly, unfortunately. Besides, I forgot about it completely. |

It was interesting to note some surprise from the audience at the resource (e.g. memory) requirements of linux, as is so often the case, quite a contrast to the ever efficient RISC OS. Did they discuss top-posting in Outlook Express as well? |

That the RISC OS scene in general tends to obsess on things to the point of having its own bizarre series of pointless rituals, rather than actually focusing on useful developments which would diminish the need to go through these rituals every time someone mentions the M-word. |

I'm not sure that's unique to the RISC OS scene, though. Most communities have their standard little bugbears; Red Dwarf's is the Re-mastered series, which everyone slags off at the least opportunity.
It's usually something that still has some relevance; as well. The Re-mastered series relevance is that the effects for it have some impact as to the upcoming movie; the top posting relevance is that a lot of people get really annoyed when they recieve such emails.
I don't think either is particuarly harmful; it's not like either is the main topic of conversation in either group. |

which would diminish the need to go through these rituals Have you had a bad experinece with a ritual, guestx? When you were small(er), did someone tie you up to a post and top you?
every time someone mentions the M-word. IIRC, whilst I was there, there was no mention of Moose at all. |
