RISCubes now *even* quieter!

R-Comp Interactive's RISCube computers have always been amongst the
quietest of RISC OS/Windows hybrid machines, thanks to their patented
cooling systems and well enginereed designs. Now, they're quieter still!

We are very concious that RISC OS users prefer low-noise computers.
RISCubes use a patented ICE cooling system which uses heat pipes
coupled with a large (and therefore slower spinning, lower noise)
fan to exhaust air effeciently. This has allowed the machines to
offer noise levels matching that of a RiscPC system, and often
less. The cooling is thermally-controlled, and the recent power
management facilities of VirtualRPC ensure cooler, quieter running
too.

Now, new enhancements such as the use of small rubber padding at
key vibration points (absorbing the vibration, and therefore
deadening the noise), new SilentX power supplies (in models with
previously noiser powersupplies) and improvements to cable
layout (better air flow) etc have reduced the noise levels still
further. This message is being sent from a RISCube which is
*significantly* quieter than the RiscPC sitting next to it.

In addition to all of this, we are offering a range of fanless
graphics boards for users requiring 3D or digital video features
(eg. for connection to LCD monitors via digital DVI connectors).
These eliminate fan noise still further.

Please note that noise levels are subjective, and you may well
find an exceptionally quiet RiscPC, or equally a noisier than
average RISCube, but the techniques used in the RISCube ensures
that wherever possible noise is reduced considerably.
