The Icon Bar just released its inaugural podcast, and their first interviewee was Jason Tribbeck.
The podcast - a sort of radio show you download from the Internet and listen to on your MP3 player - asks Jason about his past games before moving on to more recent endeavors such as his Starship Command clone, then
Equinox.
The podcast is 12.5MB, so if you don't have broadband here's a couple of interesting tidbits: the game will only run on StrongARM machines (or an IYONIX I think); have MPEG cut sequences generated in Lightwave, the software used for Babylon 5's spaceships; and the new music play routine has 64 voices and takes up very little CPU time.

They might be ancient and old titles, but unfortunately Descent II is still the most graphically intensive game available on RISC OS (and one I had quite a bit of fun with, may think about going for the Iyonix version now I've got one of them). |

To the above poster:
I think that is very harsh. R-Comp did a lot for RISC OS gaming and They were the ones bringing out games when no one else was. HoMM2 is still my fave game of all time and dare I say a game I never would have played if not for R-Comp. I am grateful for the games they brought out and only wish they were still doing so. |
