Been a very long time on a micro bbc. When in start up screen what do I type to run the game elite on a 5" floppy drive. Sorry stupid question but has been 25 yrs since I've had a bbc. Lol. Cheers. |

Be sure to check out the Stairway To Hell forums and The BBC lives! for any expertise you don't find here.
As for loading, it should simply be a case of doing Shift-Break (you remember that now, right?). If you're curious (and/or it's a dodgy copy) catalog the disk with *. and investigate the files a bit with *INFO *.* The file !Boot (assuming it's there) should be loaded using either opt 3 (exec) or 2 (run). If the disk shows opt 0, then try *EXECing or *RUNing !Boot.
If this file is missing, one of the smaller files is probably the game loader, and can be tried via CHAINing or *RUNing.
Load New Commander (Y/N)? |

Tried them all. Red light comes on floppy but nothing. Do you know anyone in Australia I can get it checked. |

I presume other floppies run okay? In which case either the protection is damaged or the FDC can't read it. What FDC do you have? Does Elite work on it? |
