Hopefully the IMAP mail reader will be done by the end of today; that'll provide a nice simple template for getting the other bits working. |

It can now properly traverse the folder tree. ATM I'm getting it to fetch the lists of messages for each folder... |

I've got a semi-browser going...
Unfortunately the data structure I'm using isn't as well thought out as I thought it was, making it a bit hard to traverse the tree
I could do a quick fix, but that may introduce more problems - it'll probably try treating the base of the tree as valid data, when it actually contains the connection details |

I've found a good way round it now
The only problem is that it seems to take ages to load the pages - I'll stick in a timer to see whether it's the page taking ages to generate or something else slowing it down.
[Edit]
Looks like it takes just over 1 second to generate the page, which isn't too bad - most of that is probably taken up waiting for the mail servers to respond.

Booyak!
It now lets you browse any of the configured mailboxes. Now I'll add the browser options to read messages, then start work on code for things like TIB... |

Please, go ahead, make my day. You don't like him? I'm always glad to have the opportunity to speak openly, without fear of Newbie , Jr. twisting my words in a grungy attempt to squander irreplaceable national treasures. But first, let me pose you a question: Is he actually concerned about any of us, or does he just want to defile the air and water in the name of profit? After reading this letter, you'll sincerely find it's the latter. Not to belabor the point, but he is too neurotic to read the writing on the wall. This writing warns that squalid pissants who adopt approaches that have not been tested to try to solve problems that have not been well-defined will, hopefully, eventually be replaced by people who believe in freedom, justice, and the pursuit of personal growth. But what, you may ask, does any of that have to do with the theme of this letter, viz., that his arguments are full of hair-splitting, lawyer-like quibbling, and references to obscure authorities? People often ask me that question. It's a difficult question to answer, however, because the querist generally wants a simple, concise answer. He doesn't want to hear a long, drawn-out explanation about how Newbie has convinced a lot of people that the majority of dangerous hedonists are heroes, if not saints. One must pause in admiration at this triumph of media manipulation. Newbie keeps saying that the best way to serve one's country is to do exactly the things he accuses nugatory enemies of the people of doing. For some reason, Newbie's fans actually believe this nonsense. Let me conclude by saying that we who want to dispense justice will not rest until we do. |
