Unregistered user Quality output devices make all the difference. It doesn't matter how cheap and tacky your walkman, radio, cd player etc is, if you get some quality 'phones, it'll sound great.

I beg to differ. My portable CD player is supposed to do CDRs of MP3s, but they skip and stutter because it's a bit of cheap tat and I should have got a proper MP3 player in the first place. I don't think a new set of earphones is going to help.
