Unnecessary frames.

You need a <head> section.

Lots of unnecessary <p>'s.

<h7> doesn't exist.

Images should all have heights, widths and alt tags.

All your content is unreadable because of the table that stretches all the way across the page. The table itself has no <tr>'s or <td>'s which b****rs up the page formatting.

Poor spelling and grammar.

In summary: Needs work.

And on that theme, but getting away from the basic html problems, the navigation scheme and construction is a little off. The reviews, for instance, are broken up into paragraphs, with each paragraph on a seperate page. Completely unncessary, requiring needless page loads. Also, there are no links on each of these seperate paragraph pages to any of the other pages.

Compare and contrast to the review section of this site. (Speaking of which, is it just me, or are most of the graphics in the reviews section here broken?)

Basically, put all the paragraphs of a review onto one page, and on that page have links back to all the main sections of the site.

I don't know how to put this mild and be sure to get the message across but the colouring stinks, different colours for each page and not that great combination at all!

Sam, what browser did you use to preview the site? Fresco perhaps?
Frame and table alignment looks way off in both Internet Explorer 5.5 and Opera 5.02. Actually it looks very bad in Opera. The frame I assume that's supposed to be on the right appears below a large white strip on the bottom of the page.

The frame syntax is incorrect, &lt;frameset rows="100%,*"&gt; tells the browser to expect two frames but you only give it one. You probably only want one frame to hide the actual location of the page source. In that case you should use rows="100%".

I highly recommend you use the W3C HTML Validator to check out your web page and if possible preview it in Opera because it's very strict on correct HTML.

The best thing you can do is study http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html32 and comply with everything it says when writing a page. Then be sure to check with http://validator.w3.org in case you made silly mistakes. You'll then have a website you can be sure everyone can enjoy, no matter what browser or platform they use. (Not strictly true, sadly, but this needn't concern you.)

were can i get opera?

It's not available for RISC OS, and you needn't really worry about it. As long as it validates, the way it looks in Oregano will pretty much be what it looks like in other browsers.

We all remember our first websites, I'm sure. Mine was an embrassing mess. I occasionally load it up for a good laugh smile

Back to some further constructive comments...
Once you've got the html right, you'll want to take care of the structure (see me comments above), then deal with readability issues. Unless it's a specific, important stylistic choice on your part, I suggest sticking with correctly constructed English sentences (with correct use of capitilisation etc.) and a consistent tri-tone colour scheme (one colour for background, one for text, one for text links). High contrast is what to go for when considering what colours to use, with black text on a white background being best.

Oh, and add in a RISC OS games review section while you're at it! smile

Opera is available from www.opera.com but it's not a RISC OS browser so unless you have access to a computer with Windows, Linux or MacOS you'll not be able to use it. I'll be more than happy to preview it for you in Opera if you want.

Best for you to create some consistancy in colour selections, don't use different colours for each page - keep the same style throughout the site.

Firstly you need the full HTML header of each HTML page, eg:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>Sam's Sega Page</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>

<tr></tr> is to begin and end a row in the table, <td></td> is to begin and end a cell in the table.
You should take a look at something like http://www.echoecho.com/html.htm which is a HTML tutorial for creating your website.

Looks good in MS Internet Explorer but doesn't display anything in Netscape 4.75. Couple of errors though, the top image in the left frame doesn't appear and when clicking on a link in the navigation frame on the left the selected page opens in a new window. You need to name the frames and target the links there like:

<frame src="..." name="mainframe">

<a hr... target="mainframe">
