Unregistered user Are there any HTML gurus in the playpen?!

At the moment, I am re-designing my website to get rid of the nasty frames, but I am stuck with something.

My current design has the main logo centered on the top part, with a line underneath, connecting to an animation. As seen here:

Old

I want to get the same effect, but without the frames. I have tried this:

Test

But I can't get the line to repeat and join up with the other graphics. Has anyone got any ideas?

Cheers,

Unregistered user This'd be better suited to the Comms forum I think.

The easiest solution to your problem is simply to stick your logo in a table cell that has TBack.gif as a background and centre it, e.g.:

<TD align="center" BACKGROUND="TBack.gif"><IMG SRC="Title.gif" width="604" height="131" BORDER=0 alt="SmoothArtist"></TD>

and get rid of the two empty cells on either side of it. You'll then need to remove the colspan from your main content cell of course.

Unregistered user Is there a current version of the page online? There's almost definitely a way to get it working in RISC OS browsers as well.

Yep, it's here. I have also tried the page with Fresco and it did the same as Browse.

Anyway, thanks again Tim!

Wow thanks! grin It works fine in IE. Oregano does cope with the background fine but not the width="138" in the TD tag. This leaves a big gap in the line. Browse copes with the cell width but not the background in a table cell!

I will probably convert my site over to the non frames version on Monday. Since most of my visitors are my friends who use PC's and IE, the above problem shouldn't really matter.

Hopefully !NetSurf will be able to render it properly on RISC OS. gringringringrin

Unregistered user Thanks all!

I have converted the lot over to the new style now and the frames are gone for good. smile

It still can't be rendered exactly the way I want on RISC OS but that's much beter then having frames. Roll on !NetSurf gringrin
